    Our technical writing team is looking for a bilingual technical writer (English/French) who will join their team. The successful candidate will work in collaboration with the technical writing team as well as the development team to document the software developed by the company. The technical writer will also collaborate with the rest of the company’s departments and subsidiaries, editing and translating a variety of documents.  

    Responsibilities

    • In English, write and update reference documentation and user guides on the software developed by InnovMetric Software 
    • Gather information on the features that need to be documented (read technical specifications and meet with software developers and analysts) 
    • Use the software to become familiar with the features that need to be documented 
    • Learn concepts that are specific to the field for which the software is created (3D metrology) 
    • Analyze and plan technical writing projects to estimate the time and effort needed to complete them 
    • Rigorously apply the standards and procedures established for the technical writing process 
    • Work closely with the other technical writers, especially during validation and revision steps 
    • Edit a wide array of documents produced by the other departments 
    • Take part in the translation process of documents, revising, editing page layouts (DTP), or publishing documents 

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in technical writing, translation, or another pertinent field 
    • Two years of experience in technical writing 
    • Experience in translation is an asset 
    • Excellent team player 
    • Knowledge of FrameMaker and Office Suite is an asset 
    • Mastery of written English; any other languages are a major asset 
    • Interested in learning technical concepts 
    • Able to work independently to complete projects 
    • Strong attention to detail and takes pride in a job well done
